Antique Arms & Militaria
Via San Lorenzo, 5/17 - Genoa 11 DEC 2011 - at 02:30 PM
- description
We inform our esteemed clientele that our next auctions will be held in December, when a large group of knightly orders, decorations and medals, representative of the various countries, will be auctioned, together with a substantial group of foreign uniforms and a rare collection of D'Annunzio memorabilia. The antique weapons of this session highlight Italian and European guns of exceptional significance both from an artistic and from a rarity point of view, amongst which a hunting double-barrelled shotgun that belonged to Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany, a gift case of high-quality guns, important pairs of Austrian and Italian flintlock pistols, stand out in particular. The historical items include a superb Pepperbox, that was property of the House of Savoy and a variety of swords and rapiers, one of which belonged to the Farnese family, the Dukes of Parma. Hunting weapons include a Le Page double-barrelled shotgun that is sumptuously finished with gilded areas and blued steel, Italian and foreign headgear including a rare Albertine-period helmet, collectables and Risorgimental-era sabres.
